A Symbol of Grace, Courage and Compassion!

Have you ever noticed the graceful image of Tara on Glen Nevis teas and wondered why she is there? Tara represents the qualities that Glen Nevis Tea Plantation hopes every cup of tea can inspire.

Tara is known throughout Asia as the embodiment of compassion, wisdom, and fearless action. She reminds us that true strength often is quiet and silent. She teaches us to meet life with an open heart, to act with kindness, and to find calm even in moments of uncertainty.

These are values that feel especially relevant today.

Tea has always been more than a beverage. It invites us to pause, to be still, breathe, and come to the present with our full being, even if just for a few precious moments. In this being-ness, before the senses—pre-scence, we can often discover greater clarity, patience, and gratitude—qualities Tara herself symbolizes.

At Glen Nevis Tea Plantation and Jade Villas, Tara was chosen as a symbol, not because she belongs to one religion or one culture, but because she represents something universal: the courage to care, the wisdom to slow down, and the compassion to nurture ourselves and then others, our nature and all living beings on this planet.

At Glen Nevis, the teas are grown with these same intentions—respect for nature, the animals, and the people that live and work in this sustainable biodiversity. The teas are produced with careful craftsmanship and a belief that every cup can become a small ritual of presence.

Maybe this is Tara's greatest lesson for modern life.

We don't need to move faster, change ourselves, or acquire more things, houses, cars, or power to find happiness. Sometimes all it takes to understand how blessed we are, is to pause, breathe, and prepare a beautiful cup of tea, allowing ourselves to simply be.
