Himachal Pradesh means the land of snow, him = snow, achal = land. Pradesh means province. It is the northernmost tea region in India. This state is increasingly recognized for its high-quality teas.

Tea is mostly grown in the Kangra ("the valley of gods") and Mandi districts, with the city of Palampur as the main centre. This Himalayan region has an abundance of rainfall and a mild climate, which is excellent for growing tea. Kangra teas are known for their high quality, unique aroma, strong body, and mild fruity flavour.

This Himalayan Snow Dragon White tea (read more about it below), was harvested in May 2025. It is a high-grown tea of the pure China bushes, as they say in India. These bushes were planted by the British in the mid-1850s. When you purchase this tea, you support the small farmers in the Himachal Pradesh area. Contact me for further info.

The Snow Dragon is a mythical creature, and a powerful symbol of resilience and hope. It provides a tranquil shield against the harsh realities of life and reminds us of the strength and inner resilience we possess.

"Himalayan Snow Dragon White tea expresses a delicate alchemy of love, passion, and craftsmanship, culminating in a creation that whispers a soulful lightness & smoothness. With your first sip, a tender floral note meets your senses, akin to the gentle fragrance of Himalayan honeysuckle that stirs a quiet joy within you. The flavor evolves into the fresh sweetness of white pear. Midway, a creamy texture unfurls like silk, wrapping your palate in softness, while a refined olive note adds a touch of depth and faint intrigue. The journey ends with vegetal freshness, a hint of citrus, leaving a clean, lingering finish that speaks of mountain breezes and ancient stillness. This Private Reserve of the Himalayas is more than tea—it is a serene moment steeped in the soul of the highlands.”

The flavor of this beautiful tea, as so poetically described above, is very delicate and smooth with lots of creamy fruitiness and a hint of vegetal freshness in the aftertaste. A wonderful and unique high-grown white tea. Do not miss this beauty—contact me today for an offer or purchase directly from TeaGardenia.
